Store: Heci Bekir - Istanbul

From the time of its founding during the Ottoman Empire, the name Haci Bekir has become a legend in Ottoman and Turkish confectionery and a leading symbol of this art. The Haci Bekir story began in 1777 when Bekir Effendi moved from Araç in Kastamonu, a province bordering the Black Sea coast of modern Turkey, to Istanbul.

Today, Haci Bekir's tradition is being carried on by the family as Ali Muhiddin Haci Bekir Confectioners, and the company can proudly say that this first shop represents the only business in Istanbul.

Review: Gerald Genta - Arabic exclusive.

The most impressive model is of course the Octo Mosaic. It's impressive due to its size (a diameter of 44,5mm), its thickness (12,45mm), the gap between the lugs (31mm), its weight and of course due to its design.

IQP+GMT with arabic figures and text. The watch is 100m waterproof. The dial decoration is an homage to the arabic art. Its style works perfectly with the case shape. The watch is sold with a beautiful jewellcase, a compass and a booklet. The booklet is used to set the compass in order to find the Mecca's direction.

The case is made in Stainless Steel or White Gold for Muslim customers.

PENELOPE*PHONE by Hulger

The idea for Hulger arrived in 2000. The mobile phone as 'timeless classic'. In 2002 the Hulger team created a prototype that was featured in Design Week.
Maybe it is not so practical. But definitely something different. Hugler looks backwards because we have alot to learn from the past, there's lots of untapped inspiration there. Fashion looks backwards as much as forwards, it knows that there is so much meaning to draw from.
With the Bluetooth Base hugler brings the classic 30's inspired PENELOPE*PHONE up-to-date allowing wire-free calling with mobile/cell phones, MAC + PC alike.
