Guerrilla fashion boutique Comme des Garcons, which has a habit of setting up shop in the most unusual venues, has done it again. For its only store in Southeast Asia, the Paris-based, Japanese label has picked the disused bookshop of Singapore’s former Methodist Girls School.
Called (what else?) “Old School,” merchandise here is laid out on antique school desks imported from Japan, giving the space the feel of an abandoned classroom-slash-laboratory. As dictated by its retail concept, Comme des Garcons does no advertising, and will stay open for exactly one year before springing up somewhere else.
